Aquatic Hall
Aquatic Hall is a public pool situated near the center of Fern River adjacent to a big park along the riverfront Promenade. It was built in the 1970s and maintains a certain 20th century charm, with arched wooden beams across the ceiling, high windows, and locally-made turquoise ceramic tile throughout. There is an Olympic-size pool divided into lanes, and a separate diving pool with springboard and platforms. The men’s and women’s locker rooms are each outfitted with a sauna and steam room, in addition to communal showers. Outdoors, there is a a popular bathing pier with a high platform for river diving at the end.
The pool is open a few afternoons a week to all ages for free swimming, and the rest of the time reserved for classes, clubs, and adult lane swimming.
Quinn swims at the pool regularly, as do Van and Bri & Liam. The Naturist Club holds its annual winter gathering in Aquatic Hall’s glass-enclosed sundeck every January.
