Juro
Juro is a student at the local college, where he studies documentary filmmaking and works as a research assistant for one of his anthropology professors. He lives in a single room above Janie & Em at the Ondine Hostel on Citron Hill.
He and Luc, his closest friend, go on frequent adventures around town and beyond by bicycle. They share a keen interest in photography, sci-fi novels, and women.
Juro’s mother grew up in Kyoto, and later moved to Fern River where she met Juro’s father. She taught her son the language, but wasn’t able to take him for a visit before the airline industry collapsed in the winter of 2009. Juro has an abiding love for manga and Japanese snacks, and eagerly anticipates the spring and fall arrivals of the electric micro-freighter Yamato-chan from Nagoya.
