Margot
Margot returned to Fern River five years ago after a decade spent living as an ex-pat in southern Spain, where she ran a bed and breakfast by the sea. She eventually sold the business and moved back, buying the historic Celandine Hotel. The place needed a lot of work, but Margot was lucky to have a few builder friends who helped renovate.
She is in her late 40s, happily divorced, and lives alone in a cozy apartment on Citron Hill up the street from the hotel. Asami lives just below her. She is Luc’s aunt by marriage, and gladly hired him on at the hotel and offered him a room to stay in when he started studying at the local college. She is also a family friend of Nora, who works at the Celandine part time. Margot enjoys having their young energy and sense of humor around the place.
Margot is bisexual, and has a few sweethearts that she sees from time to time. When she and her ex-husband amicably parted ways, she vowed to remain independent from there on out. She enjoys sex immensely, has an active fantasy life, and doesn’t at all mind solo evenings enjoying her own body and imaginings.
She has become close friends with Lena since moving back, and has known Carlos (who helped renovate the hotel) for a long time. The two of them had a brief fling during a visit home for the holidays some years ago, but they’ve let that go and remain friends. She sits for drawings and paintings in Lena’s studio occasionally, and enjoys her friend’s gentle attention and flattering depiction of her naked body.
In the summer, she spends late afternoons on the hotel’s roof deck sunbathing topless (a custom she picked up on Mediterranean beaches and encourages guests to embrace), and enjoys the odd dip in the river.
