Carlos

Carlos lives with his wife Lena just outside of Fern River on a small flower and herb farm. He is in his late 50s, and operates the farm as a second career after retiring from building houses. He is also a practicing herbalist, making tinctures and salves that he sells locally. His friends call him a Renaissance man, owing to his eclectic interests and skills.

His gardens surround the house and two small studios, filling every corner of their parcel. Lena jokes that he would grow flowers on the roof if he could. His own studio sits opposite the house from Lena’s, and serves as a workshop, laboratory, tool shed and study. The south wall is made entirely from salvaged windows and stands in as a greenhouse in the spring. On sunny winter days, the two of them pull chairs up to the windows and sunbathe.

Carlos enjoys nudism as much as Lena does, but came to it later in life. He visits the Wellness Center with her often, and rides his bike to Heather Beach for a swim practically every afternoon in the summer. He particularly likes spending time nude with his male friends, although he certainly doesn’t mind when Lena’s girlfriends come over to sunbathe with her while he works in the garden. He and Lena both are among the founding members of the Fern River Naturist Club.

He is friends with Tati, as well as Margot, who he had a short fling with years ago when he and Lena first opened up their marriage. Lena doesn’t mind, and teases him about it occasionally. His closest friend Van comes out regularly to help with projects around the farm.
